NONE OF US ARE AS GOOD AS ALL OF US

How often have we heard complaints about our town, the school, the city council, county government or even Vinton Unlimited? Such are the frequent conversations over coffee, the break table and the after work cocktail. My mother would always listen when I would share a concern, but she would tell me “You have two choices, you can be part of the problem or you can be part of the solution.” In other words don’t complain unless you don’t offer an option to help or make it better.

When I was asked to fill a vacancy on the Vinton Unlimited board I was not real sure I even knew what the organization did, even though I was a member.

I decided the only way I could know was to get involved and be a part of the solution. I must admit I had no idea how much VU does and continues to do for our community. From business promotions, concerts, events, after hours gatherings, tourism, economic development, and much more, I am thankful that Vinton Unlimited is here and for all if does. As a lifelong resident of Benton County I have been blessed with many things- faith, family, friends and being in business for over 34 years.  Vinton Unlimited has been a factor in the success of my business and many others as well as success of the community as a whole.

What is great is that Vinton Unlimited draws on everyone and everyone can be involved and be a member of this organization- individuals, non-profits, and business’s. My mom was an individual member for many years because she felt that everyone needs to support this community. It takes all of us not just some of us. As mom said, “Are you going to be a part of the problem or are you going to be a part of the solution?” Thanks mom for the great advice!
